About
My paintings are made with Acrylic,Collage or Pastels and sometimes a mixture of media. They are Semi representational. It’s about design for me and capturing a feel. I love combining colours and shapes, working on placement of tone, making my marks, doing what I love. I want to look beyond the reality. I am very inspired by the places in North East Scotland, quiet fishing towns and harbours as well as Still Life arrangements.
More recently I have been painting pure abstracts. These arrive from a sense of play initially followed by a more thoughtful editing to find the hidden treasures. I use knowledge of composition and design to get to the balance at the end. There are many layers providing a history in the making.
Enabling others to enjoy and develop their own Art is a big part of my life and a most rewarding endeavour. See the classes page for details.
I run workshops for local Art groups. If you are interested please go to the contact page.
